There are various case options depending on the combination of applications and equipment, in which you can store your favorite equipment. Although we use just the word “case”, the material, shape, and size also vary. Here is a brief introduction to the types of cases.

Merits
A common type of rack case.
Thick plywood, suspension type shock mount to protect from impact during transportation.
You can store mixers in the upper part and rack mount other equipment in the lower part.
Rack rails are fixed. Bag type case.
There are no front or rear covers, and the case is used with the equipment mounted.
Laminate finish using fiber reinforced plastic. Expensive compared to PVC.
Laminate finish using polyvinyl chloride for hardening. It is cheaper than FRP but less durable.
While cheap, the surface is glossy and excellent in water resistance. It is often used for equipment such as open racks. Not as robust as FRP and PVC specifications.
Light weight, excellent impact resistance, etc., synthetic resin.
The surface is covered with carpet. Scratches are not noticeable and the cases are durable.
It is a standard size related to the size of the rack case and the equipment to be stored in it, which has been defined by the American National Standards Institute / Electronic Industries Alliance (ANSI). Generally referred to as a 19-inch rack, the rack cases built according to this standard all accommodate storage of equipment about 483 mm wide. In addition to the ANSI / EIA standards, the 19-inch rack standards include the JIS standard (Japanese Industrial Standard), IEC standard (International Electrotechnical Commission), and DIN standard (German federal standard).
(1) Width is 19 inches (19 × 25.4 mm = 482.6 mm)
(2) Height is indicated by the letter "U".
※ 1U means 1 unit (1.75 inches), approximately 44.45 mm.
Also note that (2) is also used for equipment that supports rack mounting.

TSA Lock is a generic term for the locks installed on various cases, such as travel equipment, which have been approved by the Transportation Security Administration of the US Department of Homeland Security.
The types of TSA lock are TSA001 to TSA011, and each has a corresponding combination key, so it can be unlocked by a third party as needed.
Case exampleAt all airports in the United States, strict security checks are carried out on luggage for boarding to check for explosives and dangerous goods. Part of the inspection is a visual inspection that actually unpacks the package and checks its contents. If the key is locked, the key will be broken. You might think, “Can you destroy it by yourself?” However, to ensure security, the Transportation Security Agency staff are allowed to destroy this key.
It is this TSA lock that appeared there. In the case of the TSA lock specification, there is no concern that the Transportation Security Agency will destroy the key as it has its own unique key. It can be said that it is no longer a required item for flight cases.
A musical instrument case with a TSA lock is used as part of SKB products. If you would like to carry the equipment overseas, please look for a TSA lock-compatible SKB case on the Soundhouse website.
