About connection of high impedance speakers

"About 100V and 70V lines"

For high impedance connections, the power amplifier operates with an output voltage of 100V or 70V.
Those designed for 100V are called "100V line (or 100 series)" and those designed for 70V are called "70V line (or 70 series)".
In Japan, 100V line is generally used.
A 100V line with less voltage drop than a 70V line is better for long distance transmission.

"When switching 100V line to 70V line"

The input voltage to each speaker is halved, so you can connect up to twice as many speakers.
Example) When using IMPACT35 with "100V line 15W, 70V line 7.5W", driving is performed with "15W" when using 100V line on the amplifier side, and with "7.5W" using 70V line.
The combination of high impedance power amplifier and speaker is as follows.
"Power amplifier rated output total number of speakers W"
Example) When the power amplifier is CMP120
100V line 15W x 8 units = 120W
70V line 7.5W x 16 units = 120W

Connection method

Use a loose wire for the cable and screw it to the terminal.

The connection point differs depending on the output voltage of the power amplifier.

Example) For 100V line
Example) For 70V line

■Speaker side

Switching tap

Switch according to the drive method (voltage on power amplifier side, wattage).
Turn the switching tap at the bottom of the speaker and adjust the voltage and wattage to the mark.

100V line in the following case : 60W / 30W / 15W
70V line: 60W / 30W / 15W / 7.5W

In this position, the amplifier side corresponds to two cases of "100V line 15W" and "75V line 7.5W".

Speaker cable connection

1. Connect “+” on the amplifier side and “+” on the speaker side, and connect “-” in the same way.
2. Connect the first "+" and the second "+", and connect "-" as well.
3. Connect the third and subsequent units in the same way.
