Effectors

Effectors, in addition to being used for acoustic correction such as reverberation and delay, are also used to process the input signal positively and to make it a different sound from the original sound.

Now that digital circuit technology has advanced, multi-effectors equipped with multiple effector functions as well as single-function effectors have become commonplace, and it is possible to create a total sound with just one. There are models that have high cost performance ratios and others that are built into the mixer. Please choose from the various products according to the combination of your budget and the equipment you need.

Dynamic processors

A product that produces effects by manipulating the dynamics (volume) of an audio signal. Typical examples include the following compressors and equalizers.

What is a compressor

A device that compresses the dynamic range of an audio signal, and has the function of compressing the signal of the excess parts when the input signal exceeds a certain level.
There have the following applications, and 2ch types are mainstream, but 1ch and 4ch types are used according to the situation.

• Vocals
  to align the intonation of the sound (amount), summarized sound to some extent
• guitar, bass and drum
  Align the sound of the guitar, bass and drum sounds and stabilize the volume
• Speaker：
  Prevents excessive input to the speaker (with the same function as a limiter)

Regarding equalizers

An acoustic device that changes the frequency characteristics of an audio signal, and works to increase or decrease the audio signal in a specific range. By increasing or decreasing a specific tone range, you can create the sound of your choice, and cut unnecessary bands that cause feedback.
The equalizer has the following two methods.

• parametric equalizer
  Adjust the three parameters of the parametric equalizer (gain, mid-frequencies, bandwidth (also called Q))

• Graphic equalizer
  centers frequencies, adjustable frequency bands with fixed bandwidth individually; 15 bands, 31 bands are common
