Although various techniques are used to play electric guitars, there are endless techniques depending on the performer. We will introduce you to some of the most frequently used basic playing methods when starting a guitar.

Hammer on
After playing a certain sound, we connect the sounds by fingering another fret on the string without picking.

Tapping
Connect the sound with hammering on and pulling off with your left and right hand so that you can strike the string with your finger without picking.

Slide (glissando)
Shift the finger while holding the string and connect the sounds without interrupting the start and end sounds.

Harmonics
Put your finger on the string near the fret and release the finger on the string the moment you play it. Main position is on the 5th, 7th and 12th frets.

Picking harmonics
Picking with the side of the thumb holding the pick on the string. ※ Because the sound output varies depending on the location to pick, please find a point where it is easy to produce the sound.

Harmonics & Arming technique
With the arm pushed down, the moment you play the open string, the harmonics are released and the arm is raised.

Economy picking
When moving from one string to the next, and downpicking to move to a high-pitched string, and to move to a bass string, the string is played by uppicking.
