The playing method is similar to Surdo, and it is played with thick and short sticks and the hands. The diameter is smaller than that of Surdo, and the pitch of the head is high.

Kaisha

It is mainly used in samba and is similar to snare drums and small drums. It features a thicker snappy than the snare drum, and a smaller number of wires.

Tamborine

The shape of the Brazilian percussion tambourine is the same as that of a general tambourine, but the playing method is different. The high pitched plastic head is played by tapping it with a special stick with 3 to 4 tip pieces.
