Tuner types

There are two main types of tuners that can be used with a bass:

Guitar / Bass Tuner

Literally, the tuner corresponding to the guitar and the bass. It has a guitar mode and a bass mode, and is designed to respond only to the sound of the open strings of each string (the sound played without fretting a string). As it does not respond to other notes, it is recommended for beginners.

Chromatic tuner

A tuner that responds to the sound of all 12 semitones (within the measurement range) contained in one octave is called a chromatic tuner. It can also be used for instruments other than guitars and basses.

Usage difference

There are several types of tuners, so choose the one that suits your application.

Card tuner

For practice at home

We recommend a compact model that is easy to use. A model equipped with a metronome function is also convenient.

There is also a model equipped with a built-in microphone, but since it is difficult to pick up the raw sound on the bass, it is connected by a cable and tuned.

Home practice-live (clip tuner)

Home practice-live (clip tuner)

Type attached to the head to pick up string vibration and tune. Because there are no troublesome connections, tuning can be done quickly. It is easy to use it in a band. Models equipped with backlights are also useful on dark stages.

For live (floor tuner)

For live (floor tuner)

Tuner for live use. You can check the tuning at your feet, so you can use it during live performances. There are also models that can be set so that no sound is output from the amplifier during tuning.
