2019 is the beginning of a new era. I sincerely congratulate you on the beginning of the first year when Heisei era and the reign of the Heisei Emperor comes to an end. It has been 25 years since the founding Sound House, and I am grateful. Offering plenty of information through social media such as LINE, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc., while developing a new business model that integrates operations and online orders with the motto of global standard pricing and thorough customer follow-up. I am deeply grateful that we have been able to continue to offer a different and heartfelt service as a Japanese company.
2018 was a turbulent year. Natural disasters occurred continuously, and from all over the world, there was a cry as to why so many disasters occurred in Japan. As Sound House, we wanted to provide as much support as possible, and through the Japanese Red Cross Society we cooperated by donating 20 million yen to the stricken areas and free repair of products that were damaged in the disasters. In addition, work style reforms were promoted as a general trend in society, and it was a great time for the company. Japan has been rapidly declining and aging, and despite chronic labor shortages, administrative efforts are being made to improve work efficiency under the administrative policies that working hours must be reduced. It was clear that to continue the same level of service and business would be difficult. But as a result of spending a lot of time on labor management, it was a great plus that we were able to improve the work environment while maintaining the existing service level.
Last year, Sound House was able to make a leap forward in terms of further expanding its products. Under the motto of “Better products, cheaper” from the establishment Sound House, at the beginning of this year, we increased the brands we distribute, and applied more world-class prices to stay in line with overseas prices with more products. We have set two goals: to expand the brand product lineup and to provide customers with more cost-effective products. As a result, as a domestic import agent, not only have we become distributor for the famous headphone and microphone brand Beyerdynamic, bass amp Hartke, and SAMSON, which is well-established as an audio equipment brand, but also the world-famous JBL, a popular top brand around the world decided to join us. In addition, we released many stage effects such as lasers and fog machines from our own brand Stage Evolution, and the innovative digital mixer DM20, which boasts high performance for the cost, from Classic Pro. I am confident that many of these branded products will continue to please many customers.
Various challenges will be waiting for 2019. Nevertheless, it is also a time when the stones that have been struck so far will steadily bear fruit, and we expect to be able to provide services that will please all people involved in music. This year, we will continue to make great efforts, including projects for regional revitalization, in order to revitalize the Japanese archipelago through music. Sound House will continue to make a concerted effort with all employees this year in order to cherish Japanese music culture and make Japan a country that the Japanese can be proud of.
