Based on the purple paint period called V2, it features excellent separation and a strong sustain. It has also been modified to suit modern times, such as true bypass and support for 9V external power.
ELECTRO-HARMONIX / Op-Amp Big Muff Pi is a reissue of Op-Amp Big Muff born in the late 1970s. This model is famous for being used by Billy Corgan of Smashing Pumpkins. An operational amplifier is used for the amplification element instead of the general big muff transistor, and the gain stage adopts 3 stages instead of the conventional 4 stages.
