Check the condition of the connectors before you remove the packaging. The D-Sub end may be warped. That seems to be the only potential problem. I sent one back and received replacement without any problems. Also be prepared to immediately mark the cable numbers on the xlr connector using a sharpie marker or colored stickers. The labels on the cables are faint and appear as though they won't last long. I'd also recommend doing a sound test carefully before removing the packaging to make sure all cables in the snake are OK. Otherwise it's hard to find at this low price... and it's TASCAM compatible! It is definitely worth buying to get started and keep as spare if upgrading to higher quality cable.

(4.0) Great for Monitoring 2026/03/24
I've purchased 2 of these from Sound House. These work well monitoring multiple sources (especially percussion) for recording studio performances non-destructively because the both xlr and 1/4" outputs can be used simultaneously.
The DB25 output of my Audient id48 allows for xlr cabling to the MDX4600 input. Respectively, I send the MDX4600 xlr outs to the DB25 input of the id48 while the MDX4600 1/4" outs feed a mixer for monitoring the processed signal along with the mixer's effects. I can later switch modes on the id48 to route the recorded track (dry) through the MDX4600 for bouncing or creating a new processed track, or I can just use the DAW plugins. The MDX4600 expanders work well to keep noise levels down while monitoring. I bought these units after using the Composer Pro compressor for over 15 years. Behringer makes really good products that get the job done well enough to meet essential creative needs.
