After nearly three years of joint development with Mesa Engineering, Mesa/Boogie has finally been added to AmpliTube Custom Shop for Mac/PC. The sound that everyone admires can now be delivered to your laptop or desktop computer and your favorite DAW software.


Handmade tradition
Mesa Engineering is a manufacturer of guitar and bass amps founded in 1969 in California by Randall Smith, who made a name for himself in the amp modification, repair, and maintenance business. Considered to be the pioneer of boutique amps, Mesa Engineering has been joined by Dan Van Rysen, Doug West, and James Ashoff since the 1980s and has designed innovative hand-made amp circuits combined with hand-made speaker enclosures and further expanded the world of MESA/Boogie's unique, rich, bold guitar sound, which made Carlos Santana say, "Hey, this thing really boogies! The heavy sound is delivered as AmpliTube MESA/Boogie.


That hand-made sound has come to the digital realm!
Nearly 40 years after the founding of Mesa Engineering, AmpliTube MESA/Boogie, the first officially licensed guitar amp/model of the MESA/Boogie brand, has three modes: the MESA/Boogie Mark III Combo, the versatile Mark IV Combo, the classic high-gain amp models Dual Rectifier Head and Triple Rectifier Head, and the TransAtlantic TA-30 Combo, which encapsulates the essence of the brand, are available, as well as five cabinet models for each amp model.

As with previous AmpliTube and T-RackS gear modeling, a huge amount of time was spent on research and development to meticulously analyze the original hardware down to the smallest detail and reproduce its sound nuances as faithfully as possible. It took nearly three years for the engineers who created the original Mesa Engineering products to determine that the sound of AmpliTube MESA/Boogie was as close as possible to the original and that it was impossible to distinguish it from the original.

With the addition of MESA/Boogie, the lineup of officially licensed gear in the world's largest AmpliTube Custom Shop has been further enhanced. The sound of AmpliTube has become even more diverse and, most importantly, even more soulful.

MESA/Boogie Amps have colored the sound of many star players. Starting with legendary musicians such as Carlos Santana, Pete Townsend, Keith Richards, Robben Ford, and Al Di Meola, and including Metallica's James Hetfield and Kirk Hammett, Dream Theater John Petrucci of Dream Theater, Dave Grohl of Foo Fighters, Mark Morton and Willie Adler of Lamb of God, Johnny A, Andy Timmons, and many more.


The secret to a wide range of sounds
There is a reason why so many musicians have supported MESA/Boogie. It is because they can be connected in series, i.e. "cascaded", with multiple vacuum tube preamps. As a result, it is possible to control the characteristics of the sound, such as sustain and crunch, independently of the volume, and a wide range of sounds can be obtained.

Since the release of the MARK II in 1980, the world's first model with a footswitch-switchable two-channel circuit, the MARK III and MARK IV have evolved. Amazingly, 25 years ago, features that would later become known as characteristics of MESA/Boogie amps, such as an effects loop and on-board graphic equalizer, were already incorporated into this Boogie. And right up to the Rectifier series, which has come to represent the modern heavy sound, MESA Engineering's design philosophy has always been full of ideas that are ahead of their time. It has contributed greatly to stimulating the creativity of many guitarists and making their guitar playing more diverse with its mid-range crunch and low-range percussive sounds.
