電源ケーブルのアップグレードはマスト

オーディオ用途で約1年使ってます。住環境の制約からヘッドホン（メイン機はHiFiMAN HE1000se）が主で、本機はサブ利用。
付属電源ケーブルはガラクタ。交換はマスト。別物に化けます。後々中途半端な段階的アップグレードに迫られるより、初期投資で有名どころの1本2万円くらいのクラスの既製品か、それと同等の線材で自作、プラグとインレットへの投資をケチんないのが、結局は時間と費用を節約して満足感も上がります。
それと、好みの問題もあるでしょうが、私の環境では、DAC直挿 or ヘッドホンアンプ経由、どちらの場合でも、バランス出力→RCAアンバランス入力が、無視出来るレベルで僅かにノイズは乗りますが、臨床的、無機質、平板、退屈に感じるバランス→XLRバランス入力より有機的、音楽的、立体音響で一聴して断然上と感じます。アンバランス→アンバランスだとノイズを軽減できて、それも有効なオプションです。ま、信号上流側機材や使用ケーブルの特性にも大きく依存するでしょうし、接続は色々試してみるしかないです。先入観、思い込みを排して色んな工夫をやる、やらないで想定外の大きな差が生じることがあります。機体価格を上回るくらいのハイエンドケーブルを使う場合は、細かいこと考えないでもポテンシャルを引き出せます。
ヒューズ交換も可能で、デフォルトの安物ガラス管からオーディオグレード・ナノヒューズに換装してます。ケーブル同様この分野も値段はピンキリで、私はAliExpressで1個3000円くらいのを入手、装填方向でチューニング可のハイエンドの下の部類を使ってますが、結構いい感じの向上効果を実感できてます。加えて、230V昇圧駆動の方が明瞭感、溌剌さで上に感じます。
1年使った総括として、購入を後悔してないし、他に乗り換えようという気も起きないし、フツーに気に入ってますが「低域がパワフル過ぎ」というのが一番の印象です。上下逆さに配置したり、インシュレーター周りも試行錯誤したり色々試した結果、要は、都会の集合住宅で常時使いならオーバースペックで向いてないです。EQツマミでリミットまで低域を絞って、その上でバスレフに食器用スポンジを突っ込んで、それでも低域過多と思うくらい。私の場合、ダウンサイズの弟モデルALPHA EVO 50で用途、環境に合致、妥協無しに十分満足出来た可能性は高いです。

充分な低域を楽しむ

ALPHA EVO65のレビューをさせて頂きます。説明書によりますと、「最低20時間または、数週間のエイジングを必要とする。」との記載があります。箱開け初日から、私の環境において、全く過不足ありません。全帯域に張り出した部分はなく、フラットです。それは低域にも及んでいて、テストオシレーターを鳴らしてみたところ、私の環境で、35Hzまでは、実用的に聞くことができます。これまで、ジェネリックの8020を10年間使用していた体に、この低域が普通に出ることの新鮮さはこのうえありません。あらゆるソースをそのまま鳴らします。重さ外観、全てにおいて高級感があり、入力は、RCA ,XLR,TRS.と３個あります。バランス回路はTRSが優先されるということです。音楽制作、リスニングにおいても、これ一台でおおよそカバーできるでしょう。バスレフポートが前面にあることもあり、背面の壁の影響もないので、設置の自由度は、はかり知れません。10万円以下で6.5インチをお考えの方にとって、これは選択肢のひとつとして、かなり上位に位置することでしょう。メーカーのつくるプロモーションビデオで、レビューしている外国の方々。ほとんどそのまま、信じても良いかと思います。私は、満足いたしました。
