Most people rarely get the chance to actually carry a stage as opposed to instruments or audio gear. Even if many may have stood on one before, very few have ever helped to assemble one. Since a stage is not something that people just casually buy, it's no surprise we receive a lot of inquiries before purchase. So, we have put together a FAQ list!
In this article, I’m going to introduce the most popular series sold at Sound House: Intelli Stage.
1. What Hardware (Parts) Are Needed for Assembly?
In general, no additional parts purchase necessary — the stage can be assembled using just the main unit. It’s designed to be put together without requiring any extra hardware.
However, if you're combining platforms of different heights or stacking risers in two tiers, then additional parts will be necessary to ensure proper stability and connection.
When Combining Stages of Different Heights
Use the following riser connector brackets to securely fix adjacent risers together:
INTELLI STAGE / ISSJ – Riser Connector Brackets
These allow for a safe and stable connection between risers of varying heights.
When Stacking Risers (Double Layer Setup)
If the total height doesn’t exceed 120 cm, you can use the following extension brackets to stack risers:
INTELLI STAGE / ISREK – Riser Extension Brackets
*For safety reasons, heights over 120 cm are not recommended.
2. Are any tools required for assembly?
No tools necessary! You can assemble it using the L-shaped hex wrench that’s included on the side of the platform (top panel).
3. What’s the difference between the Industrial and Tuffcoat surfaces?
For more details on appearance and other specifications, please refer to the blog below! We’ve summarized the recommended usages for each surface type.

4. Lost or damaged stage parts
A repair kit containing several types of parts is available for purchase. Please check if the part you need is included. In many cases, this kit provides a solution.

5. Can it be used outdoors?
Because the stage platform contains internal wooden materials, permanent outdoor use is not recommended. Exposure to rain or morning dew may cause the internal wood to swell, peel the surface, or even rot.
If you need a stage for permanent outdoor installation, we recommend using an aluminum platform from another series.

6. What size is the hex wrench?
The hex wrench is 5mm in size. It is also included in the repair kit mentioned above.
7. Can it be used on uneven ground?
It is primarily designed for use on flat surfaces, but minor adjustments can be made using these parts below:

If you're planning to use the stage on stepped or uneven surfaces, we also recommend considering the Quick Lock series.

8. About Weight Capacity
The Intelli Stage series has a uniform weight capacity of 757kg/m², regardless of the platform surface type. There are no differences in strength among different shapes or folding models.
Please refrain from applying excessive weight to any single concentrated places on the stage.
At Sound House, we use Intelli Stage in our in-house event space for activities such as band performances and dancing on stage. It has worked without any issues so far!
9. The riser won’t fit into the platform!
The platform might be locked. Try adjusting the lock using the included hex wrench.
